The Book vs. Reality
In this book, since it is based on a location in the southern U.S. it showed how life was in the South. It included a bunch of the customs they had, the type of food they ate,and how close-knit of a community they have. In the dialogue ,between the commoners had a lot of racial slurs. And most especially, in this case because a black ma had murdered the two white men who had raped his daughter. The author tried to make the book seem as accurate as possible and was very good at making it as accurate as possible because he lived there all of his life. Like nowadays, many people use racial slur now as they did back then. Also, in the book Jake Brigance when gets interviewed by a news reporter most of the time he subtly tried to make Jake talk about if racism in the community would effect the outcome of the case. I feel the author tried to connect their reality with the reality of our world. I absolutely love how this book is written.
