Outrunning the Hessian
Back where I left off, the lovesick Ichabod finally gets invited to the bumpin' party at the Van Tassels place. Once he gets the invitation, he immediately gets ready for the party. The weird thing is way way back then they put some crazy shit in their hair like eel oil like seriously what is up with that. I honestly wonder where they would find stuff like that. So he borrows a trusty steed from his landlord so he could arrive at the outrageous party. He arrives at the Van Tassel estate and everyone important is there, including Brom, the party is bumpin' and everyone is having an amazing time . All the guests are dancing, telling old tales, and stuffing their facing with food especially Ichabod. After Ichabod dances like a crazy man, he goes over to Katrina's dad and listens to war stories. Then he finally, gets Katrina alone to talk but, unfortunately he gets dumped by her and flees into the dark forest of Sleepy Hollow.

The Sleepy Hollow Rivals
Picking up from where I left off, Brom Bones, a.k.a Brom Van Brunt, and Ichabod are trying to win over the young lady Katrina's heart. Since Brom Brones finds out that Ichabod is actually hitting it off with Katrina, he tries to find Ichabod's weakness. Quickly he tries everything he can to get Ichabod away from Katrina. He tries to embarrass him in front of her and he sabotages his schoolhouse to make him believe witches did it. But still through all of Brom's attempts, Ichabod still gets invited to gathering a the Van Tassel Estate. They way Brom tries to ruin Ichabod's chances with Katrina reminds me of when I fight with my younger sibling. I would outsmart her and underhand her. Well, hopefully Ichabod gets Katrina because he is sort of the underdog. And hopefully we will find out who is more clever.

Moving on
I have moved on to a new book called The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. It is about a superstitious town called Sleepy Hollow. The people enjoy stories about monsters, witches. and stuff of that sort. They have a well-known tale of a headless horseman (Hessian) who wanders around right on the outskirts of their town. The story begins right around when a young, tall, skinny schoolteacher who has green eyes and a long narrow nose. He like many of the townspeople of Sleepy Hollow have a very active imagination. So he always it comes to life once the sun goes down. He also is very involved with the activities of the church and of the town. So since he was very involved with the church, he met Katrina Van Tassel. He falls deeply in love with Katrina because she is beautiful and wealthy. But brawny Brom Van Brunt also wants Katrina to be his wife. I wonder who really gets Katrina? And how underhanded they will fight to win over Katrina's heart?

The Fade
The Fade
Well, I finished Night by Elie Wiesel. As, I got deeper and deeper into the book the book got sadder and more troubling for me to think that this actually happened not so long ago. It's sad to think that this event happened to many people during this time period. And how, someone was so cruel to have brought so much suffering among these people. There was a big change in Elie's personality and mind that happened gradually throughout the book. The devastation of being separated, abused. and the loss of his father took a toll on him. He had faith in God and then, rapidly his faith and hope was shaken and lost. He confided so much with his father because that was the only person he left and in instant he was gone. All of these events had him lose himself ultimately. He no longer thought of his parents or anyone else. It seem a bit egotistical but all he thought about after this horrible experience was over, he only thought about was himself. He no longer functioned like a human being he functioned like a lifeless being with no HEART, no SOUL, no EMOTIONS. He had ABSOLUTELY nothing to motivate him to go on with his life. The Elie his family once knew no longer existed. Elie's inner self perished forever.
