The Fade
Well, I finished Night by Elie Wiesel. As, I got deeper and deeper into the book the book got sadder and more troubling for me to think that this actually happened not so long ago. It's sad to think that this event happened to many people during this time period. And how, someone was so cruel to have brought so much suffering among these people. There was a big change in Elie's personality and mind that happened gradually throughout the book. The devastation of being separated, abused. and the loss of his father took a toll on him. He had faith in God and then, rapidly his faith and hope was shaken and lost. He confided so much with his father because that was the only person he left and in instant he was gone. All of these events had him lose himself ultimately. He no longer thought of his parents or anyone else. It seem a bit egotistical but all he thought about after this horrible experience was over, he only thought about was himself. He no longer functioned like a human being he functioned like a lifeless being with no HEART, no SOUL, no EMOTIONS. He had ABSOLUTELY nothing to motivate him to go on with his life. The Elie his family once knew no longer existed. Elie's inner self perished forever.
